How we handle your waitlist details
Version 2026-11-v1 · Last updated 3 November 2026
This notice covers the Nuvakin beta waitlist, which is the only place this website collects personal details. It explains what we collect, why, where it’s kept, for how long, and how to have it deleted.
Who is responsible
Nuvakin is an early-stage project building tools to help students make education and career decisions. Nuvakin is not yet an incorporated company. Until it is, your details are held and controlled by its founder, Deeptanshu Banik, who is responsible for them and is the person to contact with any question about them: office@nuvakin.com.
When Nuvakin is incorporated, responsibility for your details will pass to that company. We’ll update this notice and email you before that happens.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- what you’re interested in: education, career or both;
- whether you’re 18 or over;
- the date and time you joined, and which version of this notice was shown to you.
If you’re under 18, we also collect your parent’s or guardian’s name and email address, and record whether and when they gave consent.
We don’t ask for your phone number. This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and we don’t build profiles of visitors.
Why we collect it
Only to:
- invite you to the Nuvakin beta when it opens;
- send you occasional updates about the beta and its launch; and
- if you’re under 18, ask your parent or guardian for consent and keep a record of their answer.
We won’t use your details for anything else. We don’t send newsletters or other marketing, and we never sell your details or share them with anyone for their own purposes. If we ever want to use them for something new, we’ll ask you first.
If you’re under 18
We need your parent’s or guardian’s consent before you join. When you sign up, we email them a link where they can give or refuse consent. Until they give it, we keep your details only to wait for their answer and don’t contact you. If they refuse, we delete your details straight away. If they don’t answer within 14 days, we delete them automatically.
Where your details are kept, and who can see them
The form sends your details over an encrypted connection to our website’s server, which is hosted by Vercel. The server checks them and passes them straight to a Google Sheet in Nuvakin’s Google Workspace account. The website server doesn’t keep a copy. Consent emails to parents and guardians are sent through the same Google account.
Vercel and Google handle the data only to provide these services to us. Their servers may be outside India. Only Nuvakin’s founders can open the sheet, and their Google accounts are protected with two-step verification. Anyone else working with Nuvakin sees sign-up numbers only, never names or email addresses.
How long we keep it
We delete waitlist details automatically 12 months after you join. When the beta opens and you accept your invitation, we’ll tell you how the beta handles your details at that point.
If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we’ll do so within 30 days, and confirm by email.
Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- withdraw your consent and have your details deleted;
- ask what details we hold about you, and how we’ve used them;
- ask us to correct or complete them;
- nominate someone to act for you if you’re unable to; and
- complain to us about how we’ve handled them.
Withdrawing is as easy as joining: one email to office@nuvakin.com from the address you signed up with is enough. A parent or guardian can do the same for a child under 18. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Keeping it safe
Details travel only over encrypted connections. Access to the sheet is limited to the founders, the keys that let the website write to it are kept on the server and never reach your browser, and old details are deleted on schedule. If your details were ever exposed in a security incident, we’d tell you promptly by email.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your details, we’ll update this page and email you before the change applies. Each version of this notice is numbered, and we record which version you saw when you joined.
